Yes

A brief description of the faculty sustainability research program:

Mission Innovation Grants seek to support projects that have already shown promise and, with the benefit of additional funding, could galvanize the work to extend, make more visible, or advance the mission of Creighton University, including Global Engagement and Sustainability. Projects which contribute to one or more core value or are aligned with the University’s strategic implementation efforts are especially encouraged. 2022 projects include: Accompaniment on a Net Zero Pathway to Greater Mission Fidelity, A Culturally Responsive Academic Climate Approach to Mistreatment in Medical Education, and Restorative Justice Project. || The Creighton Global Initiative (CGI) incentives faculty research grants that will strengthen the ideals of global citizenship by forming international relationships, engaging worldly crises, and building a better world. Awards are grants for projects including campus-based workshops, guest speakers, a lecture series, course development, recruitment, immersions and research initiatives. Proposals may be issue-specific, such as climate change, migration, or natural resources, or experiential, allowing participants to immerse more fully into international realities. Recently funded projects include: The Common Home Project - a University-wide program that captures the Creighton 150 Leading The Way Strategic Plan and the Creighton Global Initiative goals, augments the vision for inclusive dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our shared planet, and nurtures scholarship about urgent environmental, social and humanitarian challenges. Arrupe Global Scholars - seeks to educate and mentor medical students interested in pursuing careers in global health and health equity. The program, named for Pedro Arrupe, SJ, who was deeply committed to social justice and caring for people living in poverty, seeks to educate servant-leaders in delivering healthcare with a focus on global health equity and a preferential option for the poor.
