Spirit of Laudat Si' Award The award honors students, staff, faculty, or groups that work to develop a culture of sustainability at Creighton in keeping Laudato Si', a 2015 papal encyclical that urges "care for our common home" through environmental stewardship.

A brief description of other inter-campus collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year :

One of Creighton's women's soccer player organized a pair of "Green Games" during the men's and women's home soccer season, where campus and community organizations promoted sustainability and environmental best practices. She has also worked alongside campus food service provider, Creighton/Sodexo, and Creighton's Office of Sustainability Programs to introduce compostable products. Yackley also led efforts to provide a sustainable single-use cup for weight and training rooms while organizing an athletics Department-wide service project to celebrate Earth Day.

The Omaha Area Higher Education Sustainability Alliance shares resources between local institutes of higher education in Omaha. The Alliance meets quarterly to discuss opportunities to collaborate on campus sustainability improvements and how to navigate barriers to change. In between meetings, communication between the institutions.
