Newly constructed buildings have facilitated the need for 3 large retention ponds and swales to control the flow of runoff into CLOCA controlled areas that neighbour the college.

Durham College currently has 3 retention ponds. One large pond to the south end of the campus and two ponds on the north side of the campus.
