A brief description of the event(s):

Each month during the school year, the Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability holds a Campus Sustainability Forum with a program focused on a topic associated with the Campus Sustainability Plan. Around one-hundred students, faculty and staff attend these regular gatherings to hear new information related to sustainability, and to track progress of the overall sustainability effort on campus. In addition to these regular events, the Office of Campus Energy and Sustainability holds an annual report to the IIT community on the progress of the campus relative to the goals of the Campus Sustainability Plan. The Wanger Institute for Sustainable Energy Research holds a lecture series each school year to bring renowned experts in areas of research associated with the Institute. These lectures engage as many as three hundred students and faculty in topics of interest to the university. ganGreen, the student sustainability group, holds regular events that engage the students of the university in discussion or activity around sustainability. Each semester, the organization hosts a celebration marking Campus Sustainability Day (fall semester) or Earth Day (spring semester). In addition, event recognizing Earth Hour, performing service, or discussing obstacles to living sustainably on campus occur throughout the year.
