KSC's Physical Plant & Energy staff began a new collaboration with the members of the City's Public Works officials to review and evaluate a proposal to bring district hot water to the community by a biomass firm that is making inroads into the region. This effort was geared so that both the City and KSC aimed their long-term energy supply challenges in a cohesive manner while boosting the community's future outdoor air quality. This effort dovetails with ongoing student efforts to monitor and evaluate winter OAQ levels, which are being closely evaluated by state and federal regulators.
