Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues (CAC GISOI) The Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation Issues (GISOI) was formed in 1994 and is comprised of representatives appointed by the Chancellor from members of faculty, staff, and students. The charge of the committee is:

 To identify and analyze issues relating to the lesbian gay bisexual transgender and intersex (LGBTI) community at UCSD,
including faculty, staff, and students.
 To work with all departments to address policy and procedures that would affect the LGBTI community.
 To inform and educate the UCSD community about conditions affecting the LGBTI community in their areas.
 To advise and make recommendations to the Chancellor regarding policies and procedures that will enhance the equality of
the LGBTI community at UCSD.

The on-campus LGBT Resource Center under the UC San Diego Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is a diverse, open and public space for all members of the university community to explore issues relating to sexual and gender identities, practices and politics. It develops student leadership, builds workplace equity, promotes academic research, and provides resources. The Center challenges existing definitions of variant genders and sexualities by engaging in community building on- and off-campus.

The Women's Center, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center, and the Cross-Cultural Center are collectively known as the Campus Community Centers. They are grounded in a shared belief that ending one oppression requires ending all oppressions. Together they facilitate interactive learning, promote self-awareness, foster leadership development, encourage dialogue, and challenge traditional notions of diversity. The Campus Community Centers work with undergraduate and graduate students, staff, faculty, alumni, and the San Diego Community. Through these partnerships, we build and sustain a socially just campus climate.

Events offered include Out and Proud, Q Camp, Q League, Rainbow Graduation, and the San Diego Pride Parade, among others.

The LGBT Resource Center Social Justice Peer Educators are available to provide educational workshops on gender identity and sexual orientation to UC San Diego student organizations and groups.

Uc San Diego also offers:

- LGBT undergraduate scholarships
