The Wentworth Environmental Collaborative (formerly the "Green Team") is a student organization which promotes the fundamentals of achieving sustainability, reducing the campus carbon footprint, promoting awareness of recycling and composting as well as creating an all inclusive and fun environment. Each year, WECo collaborates with the Wentworth Sustainability Committee to run outreach events and campaigns such as Earth Day.

Within its Accelerate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, students design business solutions to real-world problems, many of which have a sustainability focus, including recycling, materials re-use, wind energy, alternative modes of transportation, and water efficiency.
So far ACCELERATE had 5,492+ engaged participants form 711+ ideas as part of interdisciplinary teams. The students received mentoring from over 150+ alumni and professionals and made 150+ connections allowing them to grow and push their ideas forward. To date, 68 teams have been funded for a total of $306,850.

Each year, Wentworth hosts numerous events to encourage a campus dialogue on sustainability. Recent examples include the 2017 America Recycles Day event, 2017 lecture on sustainable business by David Blittersdorf (alumnus), 2017 Earth Hour event, 2017 bike shelter launch event, summer 2016 & 2017 bike tune-up and safety events, Spring 2016 "Trash Talks" Recycling Outreach Event, Fall 2015 LED Bulb Swap, Spring 2015 "Green Buildings of the Future" Panel Discussion, the Spring 2015 "Sustainable Transportation Fair", Winter 2015 - host of the US Green Building Council Massachusetts Chapter Annual Meeting, US Green Building Council “Green Apple Day of Service” (2014 and 2015), and annual Earth Day Festivals.

Sustainable life skills are taught through a variety of channels, including a web-based PDF guide to living with a lighter environmental footprint on campus ("The Green Leopard Guide"), annual Wentworth Orientation Week Sustainability 101 Sessions including green tips and recycling do's and don'ts, RA sustainability training, and targeted hands-on events on topics such as energy conservation and green commuting.

Each year, Wentworth offers paid part-time, semester-long internships where students work directly for the sustainability program on campus. In addition, work-study positions are available within the recycling program and for project-based initiatives.

In Spring 2017, Wentworth ran its second "Trash-2-Treasure" Green Move-Out Campaign, where residential students could donate gently used clothing and household items to a local charity rather than discarding items in the trash during the end-of-term move-out. Over 2 tons of materials were salvaged and donated.
