Yes, Laurier presented at the AASHE Conference in 2017 on its Move Out Program, an initiative led by the sustainability office to reduce and divert curbside waste during student move out time. The Laurier sustainability office also hosted a Green Energy Doors Open event in Sept 2017; the panelists included local energy and sustainability experts and also the manager of energy projects at Laurier.

Yes, Laurier’s Sustainability Office submitted a case study last year to the Region of Waterloo’s senior sustainability specialist and Waterloo North Hydro (our local electricity provider). The focus of the case study was the Laurier Energy Efficiency Program (LEEP). The goal of LEEP is to transform Laurier’s building portfolio into a leading example of sustainable management in the university sector through the implementation of multi-campus energy conservation measures (ECMs) to reduce electricity, natural gas & water usage.
