Research is not considered in faculty promotion or tenure decisions as a matter of policy or standard practice
Camosun College does not have any formal policies or programs in place that encourages students or faculty to conduct research in sustainability. It should also be noted that the institution does not consider research in faculty promotion and/or tenure decisions as a matter of policy or standard practice. With that said, Camosun College is still recognized as one of the best institutes in Canada for applied research. Many of these projects include elements or topics related to sustainability.
This year Camosun brought in $1.6 million dollars of research funding, up 15.4% from 2014.This is especially impressive as B.C. colleges' combined research income declined by 42.8%. Camosun is also consistently among the top 50 research colleges in Canada, ranking 33rd by Research Infosource, up 4 spots from 2014.
