Student representatives participate on the Presidents Advisory Council and the College Board for Governors and are elected** by the student body. Currently, a business student from our School of Business, is the student representative. Students serve a one-year term. The student constituency group may also elect a second representative whose term runs parallel to that of the student governor. Student constituency group elections are described as follows:
Any student who pays a full time student fee is eligible to participate in the Fleming College Student Administrative Council governance body.
There is an election process students have to go through to sit on the Fleming College Student Administrative Council Board of Directors. 1. Eligible student must be nominated by 30 full-time students. 2. Delegate must participate in all mandatory meetings and campaign events. 3. Delegate may only spend up to $100 for their campaign. 4. Delegate must stop campaigning 1 day before the election. 5. Delegate may not solicit votes during election. 6. The top five directors are voted in. If there are five or less than 5 delegates the election is based on whether or not the students at large vote in confidence 50% + 1 for the delegate to get onto the Fleming College Student Administrative Council Board of Directors.
All directors on the Fleming College Student administrative Council must be elected by the students at large. There is a full-time President's position that is hired by the governing body. The president must be an alumni who has graduated from Fleming college no more than two years in the past.

The governing board of the Fleming College has staff and faculty representation. There is an Academic Staff Governor, a Support Staff Governor and an Administrative Staff Governor. All are elected positions. **
The Objectives of the Board of Governors is as follows:
Objectives for 2015-2016
Objective 1: Monitor deployment of the Fleming College Strategic Plan 2015-2018 with emphasis on program portfolio, enrolment plans, indigenous education, and employee engagement.
Objective 2: Review the current Strategic Mandate Agreement, and monitor an updated perspective on opportunities and strategies for differentiation.
Objective 3: Understand the partnerships, labour market needs, trends and issues in the communities we serve.
Objective 4: Approve a risk policy that identifies principal risks inherent in the activities of the College, and assess the processes implemented to manage these risks.
Objective 5: Maintain high quality governance, identify governance process issues, and provide access to professional development training for governors.

Fleming College's Board of Governors (as above) has faculty representation which is an elected position of a Academic Staff Governor. Fleming's President's Advisory Council also has two faculty representation positions and these are elected positions**.

Fleming College's Board of Directors is composed of representatives from the communities which the institution serves: namely, Millbrook, Curve Lake, Haliburton, Fraserville, Lindsay, Cobourg and Peterborough and Little Britian, our local provincial government and the private sector.
