Green Move Out, led by Samantha Smith and Melissa Adamson in the Office of Sustainability, is a campus-wide sustainability and community service effort where students recycle their unused or gently used household items by donating them to local organizations. Items are collected at the end of the year, when many students throw out things such as coats, clothing, books and school supplies. Items are then redistributed through a local sale in the West Ward and through Pop-Up Thrift Stores on campus.

In 2023, 22,000 pounds of items were collected and donated to various community organizations and redistributed through a community sale.

Every year, Lafayette puts hosts many speakers and events with a focus on the environment and sustainability, in order to celebrate Earth Week. These events are directed at both students and employees, and meant to educate about environmental activism and to celebrate such activism. The events are sponsored by student organizations and departments including the Dyer Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Environmental Programs, Government and Law Department, the Women's Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, LEAP, Alternative School Break Club, Biology Department, Health and Life Sciences Program, the Library, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department, and Mechanical Engineering Department, among others.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Past Earth Month events have day long Earth Day celebration (EarthFest) including activities from a variety of different organizations showcasing the intersectionality of sustainability, arts trail cleanups, speaker presentations, career conversations, documentary screenings, yoga and more. These events have brought together various stakeholders in the efforts towards a more sustainable campus, yielding over 750 attendees in April alone. The goal of this outreach campaign is to showcase how sustainability behaviors can be easy to implement in an individual's studies, career, and lifestyle once exposed to the behaviors that are possible. Bringing the community together in this effort signalizes solidarity and action.

Lafayette College also participates in Green Move In in August, Sustainability Month in October, and Campus Race to Zero Waste in January-March to bring awareness to sustainability themes and institute behavior change.
