We use the FigBytes platform for our GHG emissions reporting. The program calculates the GHG emissions using emissions factors assigned to the specific activity. FigBytes is used by numerous companies and organizations. Airline travel is calculated by first collecting travel data from study away and campus usage from the college credit card. An estimate of the non-college credit card travel is estimated by a miles traveled/price ratio.

All data is collected and analyzed by facilities. We, at the sustainability office, then receive the data and input it in our greenhouse gas emissions program, Carbonsolve.

When we set our carbon neutrality goal by 2025, we needed a baseline year to calculate specific goals before 2025. Therefore, 2008 was chosen as our baseline.
