Does the institution evaluate employee satisfaction in a way that meets the criteria for this credit?:
Yes

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction:

University Planning and Analysis administers comprehensive ‘well-being’ surveys of faculty and of staff approximately ever five years. The surveys cover a wide range of topics, including but not limited to those related to support and professional development, salary and benefits, diversity and multiculturalism, work activities, leadership, performance evaluation, working relationships, campus infrastructure/physical environment, and vision and direction.

All faculty with a full time equivalent (FTE) position of .5 or higher are invited to participate in the survey, which is administered online. All non-instructional employees (including extension staff) with an FTE of .5 or higher who are not in ‘top-level’ administration (e.g., directors, vice-provosts, vice-chancellors) are invited to participate in the staff survey, which is available both online and on paper.

NC State also participates in the national Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) Survey of Non-Tenured Tenure Track Faculty, administered by the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. All probationary faculty are invited to participate in the online survey, which focuses on overall satisfaction, tenure clarity, the nature of work and workload, work-family issues, and policy importance and effectiveness.
