A brief summary of papers, guides, presentations, and other resources the institution has developed to share their sustainability experience with other institutions:
NC State has developed a number of mechanisms to share sustainability experience:
• The sustainability web site is the go-to source for campus sustainability information and is updated regularly
• The weekly e-newsletter communicates NC State events and happenings as well as regional sustainability opportunities
• Social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc) is used to share sustainability information in a rapidly moving and connected world
• The Sustainability Office compiles an Annual Sustainability Report intended to provide an overview reflecting on the types of sustainability projects that happened over the year at NC State
• NC State makes an effort to include best practices and information on the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) web site for public viewing
• The University Sustainability Office has worked with campus partners to provide video-based case studies on some of the university’s more unique projects such as green cleaning, WolfWheels bike rental program, and the environmentally responsible Lonnie Poole Golf Course
• A self-guided sustainability tour is available for anyone to travel the route and learn about sustainability projects
• A Green Living Guide was created by University Housing, Professor Hudson’s English class, and the University Sustainability Office for residents to learn about eco-living options

Below are examples of how NC State collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability.
• NC State has partnered on several research grants that lead to the establishment of research centers such as the Future Renewable Electric Energy Deliver and Management Systems Center and the Nuclear Energy Modeling and Simulation Energy Innovation Hub. A collaboration of Triangle region schools worked toward a US Department of Energy Solar Fuels hub. Although the solar fuels hub was not funded, the partnership remains and will continue similar work.
• For the past three years NC State, Duke University, Meredith College, and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill have co-presented sessions at the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education and the Ball State Greening of the Campus conference. Sessions include long-term water efficiency strategies, promoting a culture of shared responsibility, and engaging faculty from a non-academic post
• NC State has sponsored and participated in regional workshops such as Leadership for Sustainability and Curriculum hosted by a number of regional universities and Education for Sustainability hosted by Wake Forest University.
• The University Sustainability Office participates in monthly calls with other southeast schools and quarterly meetings with regional sustainability coordinators to share best practices.
• NC State participates in regional best practices meetings and conversations such as those hosted by Environment@RTP, Triangle J Council of Governments, and others.
