A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :

In 2010, Portland State University and Portland General Electric formed a strategic alliance around a shared vision of the Portland region as a leader in developing and implementing urban sustainability (http://www .pdx.edu/sustainability/partnerships/pge). PSU and PGE have sponsored three EV conferences in the last year and a half called "EVroadmap." This series of conferences has brought individuals and groups together to to help promote and strengthen EV adoption in Oregon.

The Electric Vehicle Partnership

PSU is a testing ground for electric vehicle technology and has become the favorite place for auto manufacturers to kick of North American tours.
In 2010 on the PSU campus, Toyota deployed the first of its 600 Prius Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles (PHV) to be tested in six areas around the country.

Electric Avenue

Portland State University is partnering with the City of Portland and Portland General Electric to build an electric car charging hub on campus along the Montgomery Green Street. This block-long demonstration area will have 6-7 electric chargers in a busy urban public right of way. Four charging station manufacturers have donated equipment, which students and faculty will analyze for performance, use levels, power consumptions and urban design issues.
