SJU has a university-sponsored program called Intercultural LEAD, whose mission statement reads: “The Intercultural Leadership Education and Development Fellowship Program (Intercultural LEAD) engages and supports historically underrepresented, high achieving first generation college students who have demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to intercultural awareness."


A brief description of the programs sponsored by the institution to support under-represented groups within the faculty:

This college supports PRiSM (People Representing the Sexual Minority). The goal is to create a community safe for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, gender, religion, creed, disability, or socio-economic status. These activists support those of the sexual minority through events and meetings, educating others in the campus community and advocating for the rights of all people. This organization also includes faculty members as well.
