Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
Yes

A brief description of the incentive program(s):

Temple University Center for Advancement of Teaching (CAT) hosts a variety of workshop series including seminars, book groups, and other events aimed at promoting excellent teaching at Temple. In April of 2023, CAT and guest facilitators hosted a two-part workshop called "Teaching Climate Change in Any Classroom."

Workshop description:
Teaching Climate Change in Any Classroom Workshop: No matter your field of study, you - and your students - have an important role in the climate conversation. Research shows that current and incoming students are looking to us to help guide them towards finding success within their selected professions given the backdrop of a changing climate. Join CAT as we examine how best to prepare our students for an uncertain future within the scope of existing curricula. No matter what you teach, you can incorporate climate change into your classroom in a way that is engaging and empowering!

A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:

CAT offers professional development workshops and trainings free of cost for all Temple faculty to support their students' learning and development. Some licensing/credentialing commissions offer continuing education credit for attending these workshops.
