Household Items Collection Drive

A brief description of the campaign:

This drive took place on campus in 2022 in collaboration with other Cincinnati organizations and wonderful volunteers. The UC community (students, staff and faculty) were encouraged to donate household items like kitchen supplies, lamps, etc. do donation bins rather than throwing them away. These items were then distributed to students in need at the beginning of the fall semester. See spreadsheet uploaded below for metrics of impact.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

This drive allowed us to divert a substantial amount of waste from the landfill and get it into the hands of student in need. See spreadsheet uploaded below for metrics related to waste diverted, donations (15 tons of materials) and community service hours (115).

Residence Hall Conservation Challenge

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):

Each spring, UC's residence halls compete to see who can conserve the most energy in four distinct areas of consumption - electricity, steam (heating), chilled water (cooling), and water.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):

Posted data shows how each hall is doing and how it stacks up against the others. The residence halls that participate are Calhoun, Dabney, Marian Spencer, Turner & Schneider Complex, Morgens, Rec Center, Scitoto, and Siddall.
