Yes

A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:

The UConn Recreation Facility heads the Cycle Share Program that allows students to rent bikes out for a day, a week or a semester, for a nominal fee. Additionally, the facility offers free bike programs, such as "Intro Bike Maintenance" and "Ask a Mechanic Hour," providing students with biking fundamental skills and assistance. The location of the bikes is centrally located at the recreation facility. Additionally, the UConn Outdoor Adventure Center has equipment rentals that includes bikes, bike helmets, locks, repair kits, and lights to students for a nominal fee, varying depending on how long you plan to rent.

A brief description of the car sharing program:

UConn participates in a carpool program called CT Rides, funded by the Connecticut Department of Transportation; CT Rides is an online ride-matching service that connects drivers and passengers who are heading to the same destination. The service is free to join and provides incentives such as earning rewards with every shared ride.

Electric Vehicle charging stations are located closer to buildings than other parking areas.

Yes

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:

Recognizing that electric (EV) and hybrid-electric vehicles making up nearly a quarter of the university's light duty fleet, the number of EV charging stations around campus continues to grow. There are 20 charging stations, across 4 locations, across campus; these are made available to the public and cost $3 per hour with the exception of the Price Chopper charging location (free of charge). The maximum charging session is 3 hours per day.

Yes

A brief description of the incentives or programs to encourage employees to live close to campus:

The University of Connecticut Off-Campus Housing Service allows students, staff, and faculty to search for housing close to campus and close to one another in order to foster a sense of community and to promote shorter commutes and thus a more sustainable lifestyle.

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:

In addition to on-campus bicycle accommodation and sharing, bus lines, shuttle service, and electric vehicle charging stations, UConn also provides access to interstate & intrastate bus service, local bus service (Windham Regional Transit District – WRTD), carpooling, car rental, Amtrak rail service, and airport shuttles which are included in tuition fees and ‘free’ for students with proof of a U-Pass. Additionally, UConn ResLife offers a range of Special Interest Housing and Learning Communities for students to live together on-campus in a tight-knit residential community with the benefits of living, studying, peer learning, and socializing with other like-minded students.
