*This is a highly difficult number to acquire. The above figure concerning the number student community service hours is only an estimation of the minimum number of service hours UIC students contribute to. This is because the University as a whole does not keep track of its student's activities. This figure is an estimation of the total service hours in one academic year that the Honors College which requires. It is highly likely that many more students engage in community service, but their service goes unrecorded.
