A brief summary of papers, guides, presentations, and other resources the institution has developed to share their sustainability experience with other institutions:

Waste Reduction Manager Eric Nelson presented at AASHE 2014 on Athletics Recycling at the University of Kansas. The Center for Sustainability Director, Jeff Severin presented in partnership with Staples at AASHE 2014, with the Kansas State University Sustainability Director at AASHE 2011, and with Energy Solutions Professionals at the Smart & Sustainable Campuses Conference in 2013. The Center also shares resources through the Green School List and Kansas Higher Education Sustainability Network, and occasionally contributes news items to the AASHE Bulletin. The director also meets regularly with sustainability coordinators from area institutions, and consults with other institutions by phone and email.

A brief summary of additional ways the institution collaborates with other campuses to advance sustainability :

In spring 2012, the University of Kansas held a friendly competition against Kansas State University to see which school could achieve the highest diversion rate during the RecycleMania competition.

For the past three years, the University of Kansas has participated in the Kansas Hunger Dialogue Community College where universities and junior colleges from all over the state of Kansas come together to discuss how to address hunger in their communities and the state.

Additionally, KU Dining Services professional staff have been active members in their professional association's on-going sustainability initiatives, Participating on various peer institution committees to establish campus dining sustainability programs, guidelines, awards and national training sessions.
