Core Curriculum requirement with Sustainability-Focused learning objectives for our predominant student body (undergraduates):
The Undergraduate Core Curriculum includes a required First Year Experience course. By Spring 2023, all students attending St. Thomas have taken the Foundations for College Success, which is a 1-credit seminar course that educates our students about university academic and social expectations, values, and resources. This program helps ensure that all students, regardless of their incoming social and cultural capital, will start on more equal footing in preparation for academic success at St. Thomas. The course is comprised of 14 learning modules, including sustainability as one of the modules. The sustainability module learning objectives are as follows. By the end of the module, students should be able to:
· Define key sustainability terminology and concepts
· Identify key elements of the University’s Sustainability Strategic Plan
· Give examples of ways to engage in sustainable practices on campus
· Identify their core values that intersect with the principles of sustainability
· Practice sustainability through participation in sustainable actions on campus.

In addition to the Sustainability-Focused learning outcomes above, the University has also adopted Sustainability-Supportive Learning Outcomes for our Core Curriculum for all Undergraduates as well as University-Wide Graduate Student Learning Outcomes that are Sustainability-Supportive. Learning Outcomes of our Core Curriculum that are Sustainability-Supportive (applied to all undergraduate students) include:
• Integrate principles, theories, and perspectives across disciplines
• Integrate principles, theories, and perspectives across cultures
• Think critically: being aware of one’s own inferences and biases in order to confirm, correct, or develop ideas
• Think creatively: innovatively applying concepts or ideas
• Apply ethical principles and the principles of Catholic intellectual tradition toward resolution of intellectual and social problems for the sake of the common good

University-Wide Graduate Student Learning Outcomes that are Sustainability-Supportive include:
Upon completion of a graduate degree program at the University of St. Thomas, students should demonstrate:
• the capacity to collaborate with others in a diverse environment and/or to build positive relationships in one’s professional context;
