The University utilizes the following green infrastructure & LID practices:
-rainwater collection & reuse systems
-bioretention facilities
-green roofs
-rain gardens
-storm water retention ponds
-constructed wetlands
As part of the Design process, specific practices are selected based on site characteristics.

In accordance with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation regulations, the University completes a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and files a State Pollution Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit for all construction and renovation projects that disturb one acre or more of land. In conjuntion with the Committee on the Univeristy Environment, Green infrastructure and LID practices are part of the planning process for all construction & major renovation projects.
