A brief summary of the climate plan’s long-term goals:

DePauw has a long-term goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2040. To reach that primary long-term goal, we will attend to nine specific goals:

Goal 1: Expand and Enhance Sustainability-related Curricular Opportunities

Goal 2: Expand and Enhance Sustainability-related Cocurricular

Goal 3: Create a Campus-wide Culture of Conservation

Goal 4: Continue Improvements to Energy Efficiency

Goal 5: Create a More Sustainable Campus Transportation System

Goal 6: Invest in Renewable Energy Projects

Goal 7: Review University investment opportunities to include Sustainability-related funds

Goal 8: Enhance Sustainability Service Opportunities and Create Local Carbon Offset Projects and Programs

Goal 9: Serve as a Regional Leader in the Comprehensive Promotion of Sustainability


A brief summary of the climate plan’s short-term goals:

We will focus on three sectors to address short-term goals. At the same time, we will continuously work to create a well-developed long-term focus.The three sectors are as follows: Curricular & Cocurricular Education, Facilities & Operations, and Community & Communication. Our entire community contributed to a list of projects for each of the sectors that are integrated in a graphic timeline as well as the content of our Climate Action Plan (CAP).
