A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:

Between 2010 and 2012, IU began phasing out the use of coal and increasing the use of natural gas in the Central Heating Plant (CHP). This conversion has continued through FY22.

The campus continues to invest in energy efficiency improvements to our buildings - LED lighting, installation of light sensors, installation of window film, sub-meters, etc.

IU follows the internal standard for new construction to be LEED Gold certified.
