A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:

SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT POLICY
Within the updated procurement policy that is to be implemented this year, category specific criteria are added for Seneca fleet vehicles and equipment that all new purchases must require electric or alternative fueled vehicles, or where not possible, demonstrate both a formal plan to increase capacity and efforts to reduce energy demand and emissions. For example, if the vendor has limited capacity for electric vehicles and can only provide half of the needed volume, there must be formal agreements in place that this will increase within a set period of time.

SHUTTLE BUS ELECTRIFICIATION
The current RFP for new shuttle buses includes a requirement that they be electric. Like the procurement policy, if the full volume is not possible to be electric, a formal plan is to be provided to meet this need within the contract period. Will be investigating if a solely electric company that has limited number of vehicles at this time can be supplemented with traditional fueled vehicles and then expand their offerings.
