Metro Bikeshare (https://bikeshare.metro.net/) joined the campus community in 2022, adding bike docking stations at Perloff Hall in north campus, Gateway Plaza in central campus, and Westwood Village south of campus, as well as at Drake Stadium and Weyburn Terrace (both by student residence halls). Drake Stadium is the 9th-most used station across the Metro Bikeshare system in Los Angeles County.

BruinCar (https://transportation.ucla.edu/campus-vehicle-services/bruincar) provides transportation options for faculty, staff, and students for official university business. Customers can rent vehicles from the internal BruinCar fleet or arrange facilitated rentals through external agencies.
Additionally, UCLA Transportation coordinates with Zipcar (https://transportation.ucla.edu/getting-around-campus/zipcar) to place the carsharing company’s vehicles in convenient locations all around campus for students, staff and faculty to use.

At UCLA, battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles qualify for a Clean Fuel Permit. These permit holders are granted free Level-1 electric vehicle (EV) charging in various parking structures and lots across campus. 379 stalls are outfitted with charging points that serve commuter EVs and plug-in hybrid EVs.

There are 39 Level-2 (240 volts) charging station outlets, with 2 ports each, on campus, and 6 Level-3 outlets (480 volts). These stations are accessible to students, employees and visitors - with 23 EV outlets accessible to persons with disabilities.

As part of its transportation demand management program, UCLA Transportation subsidizes the cost of quarterly or monthly passes for the seven transit agencies serving the campus. UCLA Transportation’s popular Bruin Commuter Transit Benefit (BCTB ; https://transportation.ucla.edu/getting-to-ucla/public-transit/new-bruin-commuter-transit-benefit) encourages public transit use by offering one free quarterly transit pass valid for any of the seven transit agencies serving the UCLA campus. Last year, over 1,600 new employees, current permit holders, and commuting students participated in the program, with 26% of them continuing as transit users in the following quarter, making it one of UCLA Transportation’s most successful transit pass programs.
In addition, UCLA Transportation:
- partners with four agencies to provide long-distance bus service for UCLA students and employees who commute from locations far from campus,
- offers discounted carpool parking permits and commuter assistance for students and employees interested in forming carpools,
- and, in 2022, brought back its popular Earn-A-Bike program, encouraging eligible employees and graduate students to forgo their parking permits in exchange for a free bike and accessories package.
