A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

UCF’s Office of First Year Experience selected Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair with Trash as the Common Reading text for incoming students at orientation. The required reading brought awareness to social, economic, and environmental issues surrounding waste in the United States. At the center of orientation activities was Edward Humes, the author of the book, speaking to students about the importance of striving towards more sustainable living. Professors were also encouraged to incorporate Garbology into their courses.
