A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:

Welcome to University of Missouri Kansas City’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Ally (LGBTQIA) Programs & Services. We have a lot of great programs going on this semester and we hope you can stop by the Resource Center located in the Student Union with the "Rainbow Lounge" in Room 325 and the Coordinator's Office in Suite 320. You can also reach us by emailing lgbtqia@umkc.edu or by calling 816.235.6556.

What we have to offer:

•Lounge space for relaxation between classes, meetings, a round of board games, or just an safe place to hang out

•Computers are available for student use, and a wireless network ensures that your laptop is always connected

•A large selection of books and magazines are available to read or check out

•A wide selection of educational and social events are offered every semester, most free of charge

•Safe Space training programs are conducted for departments and organizations every semester, and by request

•Extensive campus and community resources and information
