Sustainability Office and MU Campus Facilities staff meet with building coordinators twice per year to share new programs, report on progress and educate employees on how to improve sustainability efforts in their respective offices. Building Coordinators then share those tips/policy updates with staff in their buildings. The MU Low Waste Program implementation was carried out as a part of this program. This implementation included rolling out of 15,000 blue deskside recycling bins with small clip-on trash cans and collecting pre-existing recycling/trash containers. Staff, faculty, and students are encouraged to deposit recyclable materials (paper and metal/plastic containers) in common area collection bins. This implementation involved training building coordinators about this process.

Currently, this program is handled exclusively by Sustainability Office, MU Campus Facilities and Communications staff. Building Coordinators in the various campus buildings either volunteer to become Building Coordinators or are selected by their supervisors.

Sustainability Office staff and MU CF Staff meet with MU Communications and Outreach personnel before deciding on the content of the training.
