The University of Oregon has served as a co-sponsor and organizer for the WOHESC conference since its inception in 2018. Each year, UO faculty, staff, and students make multiple presentations at the conference.

In 2022 UO staff also presented at the virtual GCSHE hosted by AASHE.

University of Oregon Office of Sustainability Assistant Director Sarah Stoeckl serves on the AASHE advisory committee through 2022. In addition, the University of Oregon Office of Sustainability has served as a key organizer of the Washington Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference each year since 2018, and before that as a key organizer for the annual Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference.

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:

The Oregon Sustainability Professionals network includes sustainability professionals from public, private, and community colleges and universities across Oregon. OPSN shares best practices, successes, and failures in a peer learning network made up of sustainability professionals from each of the participating institutions. OPSN holds at least one in person meeting/workshop/event/ per year. Members also use an email listserve to ask questions, share feedback, and provide support. The OPSN represents Oregon at the annual Washington Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference. The University of Oregon participates in OPSN through the annual meeting and the listserve, which generates hundreds of emails per year. The OPSN is very important to help smaller schools keep programs alive and up and running, and the University of Oregon provides mentoring on a regular basis through OPSN.

A brief description of other inter-campus collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year :

The Pacific Northwest Just Futures Institute fosters collaborations across campus and the region, formally partnered with University of Idaho-Moscow, Whitman College, and Heritage University. In November, they hosted a two-day symposium focused on The Futures of Work that brought together students, faculty, and staff from four institutions, as well as community partners and external keynote speakers: https://calendar.uoregon.edu/event/symposium_-_futures_of_work_climate_and_lifeways_in_the_pnw
