As part of our second Climate Action Plan (2020) the UO convened a committee made of up faculty, staff, and students to monitor progress on the current CAP and advise on changes to the planned update in 2024. The committee is managed through the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration with responsibility for furthering the commitments and goals of the CAP on the Office of Sustainability. The committee's recent work focuses primarily on the results of one of the CAP's promised studies on our thermal transition options away from natural gas and advising on a forthcoming recommendation to the UO's board and president.

1. The University of Oregon Office of Sustainability's mission is to lead the integration of sustainability into the University of Oregon’s operations, curriculum, co-curriculum, research, and engagement with the broader community.
2. The Student Sustainability Center (SSC) is a program of the Erb Memorial Union. The Student Sustainability Center is a collaborative space for student-led initiatives that foster and support the simultaneous pursuit of human equity, environmental vitality and economic well-being for the present and future. Through collaborative efforts, we hope to help students develop the skills, strategies, and networks necessary to work towards their vision of society.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The University of Oregon Office of Sustainability's mission is to lead the integration of sustainability into the University of Oregon’s operations, curriculum, co-curriculum, research, and engagement with the broader community.
Recent accomplishments include: Integration of energy management team into Office of Sustainability; establishing a surplus furniture program available to campus and local community; collaboration with the PNW Just Futures Institute, including core team on the Atlas of Essential Work and co-planning of fall 2022 symposium; leading efforts to consider a transition away from natural gas for campus heating, including the impacts to campus, costs, and how to fund it. These programs and initiatives are in addition to an extensive list of ongoing projects and programs.
The Student Sustainability Center was able to add a second FTE and, subsequently, able to revamp their entire volunteering and engagement offerings, leading to more robust and reliable ways for undergraduate students to cultivate skills in sustainability leadership, resiliency, and professional skills.
