A brief summary of the climate plan’s long-term goals:
Wesleyan University will need to eliminate approximately 700-1000 MTCO2e annually for the next 40 years to reach its goal of carbon neutrality. Wesleyan's Sustainability Advisory Group (SAGES) has set goals to reduce Wesleyan's carbon footprint in the areas of education, waste, transportation, energy, water, buildings, and grounds.
A brief summary of the climate plan’s short-term goals:
Wesleyan has set interim goals of a 25% reduction in emissions by 2020 and a 35% reduction in emissions by 2030. Wesleyan also aims to reduce its mobile combustion emissions by 80% by 2030.
