A brief description of the institution’s main campus and other aspects of the institutional boundary used to complete this report:

Our historic and verdant suburban campus 11 miles from Philadelphia opened in 1885. Bryn Mawr was the first women’s college to offer graduate education through the Ph.D., a signal of its founders’ refusal to accept the limitations imposed on women’s intellectual achievement at other institutions. Our outstanding graduate programs — offered to both men and women — add to the intellectual dynamism of our community.
The campus consists of a 102-acre main campus as well as a 10-acre satellite campus approximately one mile away that houses our Graduate School of Social Work. The campus includes a wide range of natural areas stewarded by the College such as Morris Woods (a 6 acre forest), Vickers Pond (designed to manage and treat storm water run-off), and several streams and wetland areas.

Among our 44 buildings and structures are many historic and culturally significant buildings including some of the earliest Collegiate Gothic buildings in the US and Erdman Hall (designed by Louis Kahn). The original campus is now a National Historic District that contains one National Historic Landmark Building known as Old Library.
