Not an official University policy but LCCA?TCO is part of the State Statutes under Chapter 287 which states “consideration of the total cost of each year of the contract, including renewal years, as submitted by the vendor;….” and a best practice for procurement.
When contracts and purchases are evaluated, Procurement Services does due diligence to evaluate the total cost of ownership for a purchase. One benefit of strategic sourcing is that it shifts the focus from looking only at the purchase price to understanding the total cost of owning or consuming a product or service.
