The Student Garden Club is dedicated to tying together an understanding of food systems with environmental awareness. Further goals of this club include educating the Behrend community about food systems, taking action on campus and in the community to tackle issues related to food systems, and helping individuals develop an appreciation for food and the culture surrounding it.

While this club intends to educate and inspire students and faculty to understand food systems as they relate to the world, this club's focus will also have ties to the Erie community. Establishing and maintaining relationships with groups like Erie's Food Policy Advisory Council (FPAC), Penn State Extension, the Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Network, and USCRI's Refugee Agricultural Partnership Program (RAPP) will be some of the main goals of this organization.
