A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:

A one question Qualtrics survey was administered to the SU faculty. The question asked was:

“The United Nations defines sustainability as "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." Sustainability is comprised of three components 1) social, 2) economic, and 3) environment. As a SU faculty member, do you consider the research you are conducting to be related to one or multiple components of sustainability?”

25 Faculty responded “Yes” to the survey. Because the survey was anonymous, these individuals where not identified. However, the Office of Sustainability contacted several departments on campus and was notified that faculty from the following departments identified as conducting sustainability related research.

1. Environmental Studies Department
2. Biological Sciences Department
3. Political Science Department
4. Sociology Department
5. Psychology Department
