The Salisbury University Green Fund is a unique program designed to improve environmental sustainability at SU by giving students a say in how their sustainability fees are spent. Proposed by the Student Government Association and passed by student votes, the Green Fund supports projects proposed by students or student-faculty teams. Students even make up the majority of the Green Fund review board’s members (five students, three staff and one faculty member). This board reviews all proposals received and approves expenditures for those selected. The Green Fund funds sustainability-focused student projects on SU's campus.

Salisbury University continues to grow, expand, and improve every year. To ensure our growth is sustainable, all new building construction projects and existing building renovation projects must meet at a minimum LEED Silver standards. To meet our net zero emissions goals, all current building renovation projects are being designed to be net zero (or net zero ready) buildings.

Salisbury University has a solar canopy installed on Parking Lot H. In 2022 the solar canopy produced 712,000 kWh. SU plans to add more solar projects to its campus in the coming years to reach our net zero emissions goal.
