Yes

A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:

Partnership with BIRD micro-mobility for travel on and off campus. During 2022/23 academic year we had a total of 35,319 rides.


Does the institution participate in a car sharing program?:
Yes

A brief description of the car sharing program:

We have vanpool, Zipcar, Zimride, and Waze. Students drove 184,804 miles with Zipcar during the 2022/23 academic year. We have increased from 6 to 14 vehicles.

Yes

EV charging rates are cheaper on campus. There are several preferred parking spots in Parking Lot 2A.

Yes

We have 34 EV stations throughout campus available to staff and students.

Yes

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:

1) There are several preferred parking spots in Parking Lot 2A.
2) The 1st yr. parking policy was implemented to reduce the carbon footprint on campus by restricting 1st yr. students to bring their vehicles, there were 5,000 first-year students living on campus.
3) Encourage students to use the Red and Black Shuttle instead of driving personal cars.
4) BIRD Micro-mobility bikes and scooters.
5) San Diego Metropolitan Transit System: faculty and staff passes through payroll deduction and student monthly discounted passes year‐round.
6) Vanpool contract is currently under review. Faculty and staff will be able to enroll through payroll deduction. The program will be subsidized and will help individuals reduce vehicle miles traveled.
