Alternative products are used when possible, and care and proper storage are utilized when waste is generated.

The university safely stores any waste in accordance with OSHA and/or state regulations. Removal / disposal of items are handled by professionals contracted by the institution.

No incidents to report.
A brief description of any inventory system employed by the institution to facilitate the reuse or redistribution of laboratory chemicals:
Laboratory chemicals are stored in a central storage facility and managed by the university's lab manager. The lab manager monitors and tracks usage and is responsible for minimizing waste through reuse and redistribution of chemicals where feasible.

The Information Technology department and the University Warehouse both have opportunities in place to facilitate faculty, staff and students with the proper recycling of electronics. The university Recycling department manages the proper disposal of electronic waste through the county's transfer station.
