0 MMBtu

Option 3: Total clean and renewable electricity generated by off-site projects that the institution catalyzed and for which the institution retains or has retired the associated environmental attributes :
0 MMBtu

A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :

Powell Hall has a 75kW solar array, installed in 2010.

A brief description of on-site renewable non-electric energy devices:
---

A brief description of off-site, institution-catalyzed, renewable electricity generating devices:
---

A brief description of RECs or other similar renewable energy products purchased during the previous year:

All new construction project acquire 70% of the building load from renewable energy through REC. this 70% is for two years off set. Therefore the total off set for this years project that is 35% of each LEED certified building is 7,944,747 KWH. We are committed to pursue this offset for each and every project where it is feasible. This years renewable energy generation was 27MMBtu.

A brief description of co-generation technologies deployed:

The co-generation plant located on the campus provides all of the steam for heating needs, around 200,000 lbs/hr. Progress Energy operates this facility and the electricity goes back to the grid. UF purchases electricity from the grid, with the Progress Energy fuel mix, of which the co-generation plant is a small part.
