UMass Lowell does not have an institution-wide stated preference to purchase office paper that has recycled content and/or is certified to meet multi-criteria sustainability standards. UMass Lowell does have stated preferences in certain areas. For example, the Data Center uses 30% post-consumer recycled paper, but there is no global mandate for institution-wide purchasing. Office Max is UMass Lowell's current paper supplier, which is new within the last year. It was felt that developing and implementing an institution-wide state preference would be relatively easy to do and would be a matter of bundling policies that already exist.
