A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

UT Recycling has launched an on-campus food composting program to transform otherwise wasted food into nutrient-rich fertilizer. With the help of several student workers, a pilot composting program was initiated in June 2010. Since that time, the program has taken off - by fall 2010, UT Recycling was collecting 1,000-1,200 pounds of food per week for composting.
