Yes

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability, including the issues, bills, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:

The institute’s Dr. Les Shephard and graduate research assistant, Clare Cloudt, play an active role in the Mayor’s Green Jobs Leadership Council, an assembly of community, business, and local government leaders who make decisions concerning the future of San Antonio’s green economy and green job market. The council is currently in the process of choosing a director for Mission Verde, a non-profit being formed that will serve many functions, from establishing a green jobs training facility, promoting community awareness through workshops, and creating a website with green resources, to fostering new businesses and connecting industry professionals to local experts in green technologies and sustainability.
