A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:

Survey was conducted during Fall 22.The survey will assess attitude, beliefs, and knowledge about sustainability programming, issues, and future contribution. These questions were used to develop support and answer objection to the process:

Points for discussion
1. What should the scale be? How will it be distributed?
2. Who should/can design the survey?
3. Does it need to be incentivized?
4. How useful would this data be to the Office of Sustainability?
5. How often should the survey be conducted?

A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :

UTSA's Student Government Association in collaboration with the Sustainability Council developed a student led committee to initiate a Action Committee to develop a Sustainability Literacy Survey for students. The Committee developed, then presented the survey to the Student Government Association for approval 9/30/2022. The proposal was sent to the Office of Sustainability 10/4/2022 for funding. SGA then tabled for 3 weeks (3 days a week for 2 hours a day) in the Spring 2023 semester.

A brief summary of results from the literacy assessment(s):

256 responses were collected. Of those,64 students were unaware UTSA had an Office of Sustainability.
84% of responses supported additional sustainable measures to increase campus efficiency if it did not increase tuition.
66% of responses thought the best explanation for sustainability was energy or water reduction or conservation.
The post assessment is scheduled but has not yet occurred.
