Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :
A brief description of the incentive program(s):
The Kleese College and the Office of Sustainability funded 11 faculty-led projects to promote technial and professional skills in demand in the workforce. These skills skills include, but are not limited to, Sustainability, Reliability, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Arturo Montoya, the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs for the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design, recived $5k in funding to incorporate core sustainability values into course curricula.
The Office of Sustainabillity actively seeks out opportunities to work with faculty to develop/further sustainable courses/research.
A brief description of the incentives that academic staff who participate in the program(s) receive:
1) Incorporating Sustainable Materials Contents, Programming, and Team-building Skills into CSM 2143 Construction Materials and Testing Course ($1K support)
2) Sustainable Technology and Interconnected Labs Initiative($4K support)
