A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :

All incoming students, faculty and staff are informed of University Policy (UTS 169) regarding sustainability, the UTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures section on sustainability (HOP 9.43) and UTSA Office of Sustainability support. All entering students including transfer students take training on inclusion and diversity. Further programs are available in LGBTQ+ Ally Training, Dreamers Ally Training, and housing and residential life training on optional event based curriculum for residents.

Incoming students who attend an in-person orientation experience do receive introductions to both the "Go Green" initiative as well as the Office of Sustainability. The script for the "Go Green" initiative explains the university's recycling efforts. The Office of Sustainability script speaks to the charge of the office, events sponsored by the office, and locations of different resources (Tito Bradshaw Bike Shop e.g) the office provides.
