Sustainability Office employees complete online training modules required for all employees, including a module on Respectful Culture in the Academic and Work Environment and a module on University Non-Discrimination Policies.

Equity-Centered Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP)

Beginning in July, 2019, the Sustainability Office has led effort to create a new Climate Change Action Plan that centers equity in every step of both planning and implementation. The process included meetings with historically marginalized groups. A consultant ensured that all participants in the CCAP process were introduced to EDI as a component of sustainability.

SCIF Bylaws Revision
Revision of the Sustainable Campus Initiative Fund (SCIF) bylaws began in spring of 2020 in order to express a more just, inclusive, and holistic view of sustainability. The revision process involved Sustainability staff and interns, students in the Environmental Justice Community Engaged Learning Course, and staff from Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. The revised bylaws, adopted in April 2021, specify that the Allocations Committee must include one staff member selected by the Vice President for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
