All new freshmen are required to attend a Student Transition, Advising and Registration (STAR) session. The registration program includes time to meet with advisers, register for classes, and learn about student services that help students transition to campus. During the general presentation of STAR, sustainability is addressed as well as including details about sustainable dining and meals on campus.

A Resource Fair is held during STAR where various programs and departments across campus provide information about their program. The Office of Sustainability staff and/or students reserve a table and display campus sustainability initiatives and answer questions.
Dining services and residential living table as well to provide information about recycling, composting, sustainable food operations, move-in and move-out, our LEED Gold residence hall, Green Advocates, etc.

Departmental links are posted on the orientation website to assist new students with addressing questions about their services or programs; the Office of Sustainability website is linked on the website, as well as Dining Services, Residential Living, Diversity and College Access and many others related to sustainability.

First Year Resource Fairs are held during the summer months and in January.

Transfer STAR (Student Transition, Advising and Registration) includes a Resource Fair as well.
