Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) provides compliance guidance, training and technical support to the WFU community necessary to address safety and health regulatory compliance and related risks.
Through a variety of programs, EHS oversees and participates in:
Coordination of training and managing associated records,
Conducting inspections of laboratories, shops, and maintenance facilities for OSHA and related regulatory compliance,
Ensuring corrective action is implemented to address findings,
Addressing employee safety and health complaints,
Concerns related to indoor air quality and work station set up (ergonomics),
Supporting the WFU community through developing and communicating EHS awareness training.
All employees at Wake Forest University complete new employee orientation training, required annual training, and ongoing health & safety awareness training. Employees are encouraged to report unsafe acts/conditions and near misses to supervisors and EHS staff.
